Meet Portable Offices Newest Project Manager
Reanne Thomas has recently joined Portable Offices to enhance the company’s Special Projects team.
Based in her hometown of Luton at the local office but covering the entire country, Reanne will bring a blend of specialist expertise and will be responsible for surveying sites and buildings and providing design and construction proposals for some of the more complex and challenging contracts involving modular buildings and units.
The role involves advising on environmental and safety issues, meeting with clients and contractors to oversee progress and identifying and advising on remedial works, and providing advice in relation to legal and planning issues, improvements, and proposed alterations.
Reanne has a post-graduate degree in building surveying and has extensive experience gained within local authority residential and commercial major works, most recently in the area of Westminster.
She is looking forward to applying her expertise in the commercial sector and is keen to embrace the fresh challenges of her new role. There are already a large proportion of female managers in senior roles within Portable Offices, but this is the first female appointment in the area of Special Projects.
Reanne commented: “I was pleasantly surprised to see so many females in what was traditionally perceived as a male-dominated sector. I am really enjoying being part of such a great team – everyone has made me feel very welcome. The company has a warmth and strong family feel which gives a real sense of belonging.
“My building sector experience is hugely transferrable to this sector and I am getting immersed in the technical specifics of the products. I am really looking forward to this next phase of my career.”
Away from work, Reanne enjoys international travel, sports, attending music gigs and spending time with her family.
