Requirements

Gull Wing Bridge is being built in Lake Lothing, Lowestoft with the aim to reduce the traffic congestion in the town. These plans were made by Suffolk County Council, and it is being built by Farrans Construction.

The project is set to last 106 weeks, so Farrans Construction were looking for quality accommodation for on-site staff. The AVflex was the product chosen as it is flexible enough to offer open plan accommodation. This was to include office space, a canteen, meeting rooms, training rooms, toilets and changing rooms.

​Wernick Hire has the benefit of offering ancillary services through their sister company Wernick Power Solutions. They were able to provide Farrans Construction with power for the whole site, supplied by two 200kVA generators and a 3000L fuel tank.

Solution

Farrans Construction and Wernick Hire have an existing working relationship, but it is their first time working with Wernick Power Solutions. They were both chosen as they had the products and availability to meet the client’s start date.

Wernick Hire provided GreenSpace® AVflex cabins which are environmentally friendly and have energy-saving features that are ideal for long term hire.

​AVflex cabins also include security features that keep the cabins secure on a busy construction site like this one.

The outside design of the AVflex cabins reflect Farrans construction’s brand image, the cabins are painted yellow and signs display the brand name.

The client also added a canopy to the power set-up so that the generators and fuel tank are in one place and sheltered from the weather.
