George Eliot Hospital
George Eliot Hospital required a 30-bed ward to house orthopaedic elective and general elective patients as part of the Trust’s five-year estate strategy. The new building was required urgently, and with limited space on-site the Trust were considering a multi-storey solution.
Wernick Buildings proved that they could supply an economically viable, single storey building within a 20-week timeframe and were subsequently appointed as principal contractor for the project.
Following the outbreak of Covid-19, the hospital’s requirement became more urgent. By investing more time into the project, Wernick was able to condense the build programme to just 14 weeks.
Wernick Buildings provided a new, HTM and DDA compliant building for the hospital.
