Wernick Completes First Accommodation Instalment for Hs2
Wernick Buildings has successfully delivered modular accommodation to a site just outside of London, where HS2 will be launching its first tunnel boring machines for the Chiltern tunnel section.
Wernick manufactured all 213 PMflex® modules to order at their facility in Port Talbot, South Wales in just a few months, despite the difficult operating conditions imposed by the COVID pandemic.
The accommodation is the first procured by the client Align JV – a joint venture formed of three companies: Bouygues Travaux Publics, Sir Robert McAlpine, and VolkerFitzpatrick.
It will remain on site for five years, providing the main welfare and office space for workers and sub-contractors working on the new high-speed railway.
The buildings, situated near the M25, offer modern and spacious areas for staff to work, meet, break and prepare food.
In addition to the facilities that you would expect in construction welfare buildings, you will find exposed ceilings, glass-partitioned and open-plan offices, break-out and coffee areas, light and airy meeting rooms and a viewing platform.
Wernick Buildings are one of more than 2,000 companies across the UK currently working on HS2. The project has had a positive impact on Wernick Buildings and the surrounding area.
