Portable Offices’ dynamic duo swing to success at MPBA golf day
Tiger Woods may not have been in evidence at this year’s MPBA (Modular & Portable BuildingsAssociation) Golf Day at Ullesthorpe Golf Club in Lutterworth but the Portable Offices’ team were more than capable of scoring success without the help of any professionals.
Neil Christie – manager of Luton depot – together with Dean Dixon – manager of Derby – took the competition by storm taking first and second place respectively in the stableford challenge.
Fighting off strong opposition from around 40 players from all areas of the portable buildings industry, Neil, an 18 handicapper, scored 43 points (65 net) and Dean, a 14 handicapper, came a close second with 42 points (66 net).
Neil is a keen golfer and plays at Wychwood Park, Cheshire and Pessac Golf Club in France. His prize was a classic leather laptop bag and a superb glass golf ball trophy.
Dean was delighted with his second prize of a golf bag.
Neil commented: “As our only industry golf day, it is a great opportunity to network in relaxed surroundings. The course was in superb condition. Providing you had a good drive off the tee there was an excellent possibility of achieving good points on the hole.”
Dean said: “It was close-run competition and brilliant fun. I was so pleased that I played well on the day and see it as a mark of achievement for Portable Offices that both of us were at the front of the prizes.”
