S Jones Containers supports Wolverhampton Food Bank through Charity Box initiative

By S Jones Containers Limited in Industry News

Walsall-based S Jones Containers has supported The Well, the home of Wolverhampton Food Bank, by supplying a 20ft shipping container for the charity’s ambient food storage.

The family-owned leading shipping container hire, sales and conversion specialist supplied the container through its ‘Charity Box’ initiative, which allows humanitarian registered charities to hire a shipping container for free for six months, with the following six months charged at 50 per cent of its usual tariff. The initiative applies to eligible charities across the Midlands, as well as those in Liverpool, Leeds and Felixstowe.

A range of standard sized shipping containers are available to hire through S Jones Containers’ Charity Box initiative, and the second hand container will enable The Well to store a range of ambient food products for service users in Wolverhampton. The food bank operates an essential service in the area, helping those in difficult circumstances by providing emergency food and supplies, including baby food and toiletries.

Caroline Price, Project Leader at The Well, said: “We’re delighted with the service provided by S Jones Containers, with the team always on hand and being quick to respond, despite the container being part of a charity initiative rather than a paid-for project. The container is providing us with an essential storage place for our wide range of ambient food products to help those in need across Wolverhampton.”

Glen Wills, Head of Sales at S Jones Containers added: “We’re proud to have supplied The Well with the hire of one of our former shipping containers free of charge through our Charity Box initiative, demonstrating our commitment to giving back to the communities we work in. Our Hire team are experienced and knowledgeable in the service they provide, and this service extends to our Charity Box initiative. We encourage eligible charities in the Midlands, Liverpool, Leeds and Felixstowe to get in touch with us if they would benefit from this initiative.”

S Jones Containers’ ‘U Can Store It’ offering provides cost-effective self-storage solutions across the West Midlands, with sites located in West Bromwich, Aldridge and Coventry.
