S Jones Conversions returns to The Fire Safety Event 2026
S Jones Conversions, the specialist container conversion division of S Jones Containers, is set to return to The Fire Safety Event at the NEC Birmingham for three days this April, making its presence felt with a modified 20ft side-opening container as its exhibitor stand.
The S Jones Conversions team is returning to the event after exhibiting last year, where it also hosted a thought-provoking seminar on the safe manufacture and storage of lithium-ion batteries, highlighting the lack of regulation in the UK at that time. Andrew Nicholls, Head of Conversions at S Jones Containers, hosted the discussion and was joined by representatives from Electrical Safety First, the Fire Protection Association and Warwick Manufacturing Group for the packed session.
This year visitors to S Jones’ stand (4/H35) will have the opportunity to view virtual 3D modelled tours of its range of innovative containerised engineered solutions including battery storage units, switchgear enclosures, water treatment and compressor housing. All are engineered to suit the specific requirements of different industries and manufactured bespoke at its dedicated workshop in Aldridge, West Midlands. Visitors will be able to examine each unit’s internal layout and configuration, as well as the range of safety features and fire protection systems. The team has also created a virtual reality tour of its battery storage unit.
Andrew Nicholls, Head of Conversions at S Jones Containers commented: “In the past 12 months it’s encouraging to see that regulations are changing as the Product Regulation and Metrology Act has now been passed by Parliament, which is a step in the right direction. But in our opinion, there is still a long way to go in terms of raising awareness of the hazards of working with and storing lithium-ion batteries. We’ll continue to be a passionate advocate for change and improved safety in this area.
“This year we’re excited to show the fire safety community at the Fire Safety Event what our products can do in a practical way to protect people, equipment, and infrastructure from fire, explosion, and electrical hazards including those posed by lithium-ion batteries. Our stand is a blank canvas and once inside the container, visitors can see our virtual tours to understand how we can reconfigure the space to suit numerous different industrial uses. We’ll also have a VR tour of our battery storage unit for visitors to experience as our most specified product. If you’re at the show, come meet me and my team and see how we can support your next project.”
S Jones Conversions will be exhibiting on stand 4/H35 at The Fire Safety Event at the NEC Birmingham from Tuesday 28th to Thursday 30th April 2026.
