Building Delivered Through the Night for Value Retail

By Wernick Refurbished Buildings in Industry News

Bicester Village is a popular shopping hotspot in Oxford owned by Value Retail, an international retail company that owns 11 retail outlets across Europe and China. The Village houses over 130 shops and boutiques, and is visited by over 6 million shoppers every year, all looking for some retail therapy.

Value Retail required additional office space in this busy shopping hub, and approached Wernick Hire for a modular solution. Competitors had tendered for the job, but no one else could provide the quality of service and speed of delivery that Wernick Hire offered.

The building was provided by Wernick Refurbished Buildings; who re-purposed old modular units to create a brand new, high quality office block. The completed building was two storeys comprising of 24 modular bays stacked 12 on 12.

Due to the popularity of Bicester Retail Village, the craning had to take place outside of shopping hours, so the installation of the bays was done by night. It took just 5 weeks from work starting on site to the handover of the completed building.

The completed building contained a number of open plan offices and private meeting spaces, along with kitchens, toilet facilities and storage. The offices were completed with interior and exterior staircases and encapsulated window blinds.
