S Jones Conversions delivers trio of striking projects for event spaces

Walsall-based shipping container conversions specialist S Jones Conversions has successfully completed the bespoke modification of shipping containers for three projects with Spacial Installations to create a series of unique event spaces. 

Spacial Installations, a design and build production company specialising in creating impressive sets for the event and entertainment industries, partnered with S Jones Containers’ specialist Conversions division to provide modified shipping containers for use at London’s annual BST Hyde Park festival. The containers were used to create an Amalfi Coast villa-inspired ‘The House of Peroni’ bar, which comprised eight 20ft and two 40ft shipping containers. Following the success of the initial bar project, S Jones Conversions supplied five modified 30ft shipping containers for Spacial Installations’ striking Japanese temple-inspired Sakura bar. 

Most recently, the companies joined forces for a third creative project. S Jones Conversions’ expert team supplied 18 40ft modified previously used shipping containers for Spacial Installations to create an impressive space inspired by New York’s iconic Flatiron building for BST Hyde Park. 

The labour-intensive process involved modifying all 18 shipping containers to ensure Spacial Installations could build and install the expansive space within a strict deadline ahead of the festival. All aspects of the modification were built to tight tolerances so that all containers could line up and join together correctly during the installation process. The S Jones Conversions team also had to carefully consider the requirement for a rain guard on the top of the containers, ensuring these were modified to allow for how far this would protrude into the next container.
