Premier Modular shortlisted for two categories in the 2017 Construction News Awards

The two categories Premier Modular have been shortlisted for are:

  • Specialist Contractor of the Year (turnover under £100m); and
  • Project of the Year (value under £10m) for their work at New Islington Free School

A new school was required as part of the regeneration of the New Islington area in Manchester.  Premier, as preferred supply chain partners, worked closely with main contractors Conlon Construction and with their architectural partners Vaughan Architector to design, manufacture and install the visually stunning new school building, incorporating a feature entrance, over-sailing roof, picture windows, a double height light well and a modern external cladding finish.  Have a look at our case study to find out more about the project.

Before the awards, all finalists will attend face-to-face judging by members of the 60-strong jury, made up of the most influential clients and experts in hte UK.

This year the judging line-up includes tens of the country’s top clients, including:

  • Louise Ellison, head of sustainability, Hammerson
  • Mike Grice, construction director, Battersea Power Station Development
  • Tony Mars, head of design, construction and delivery, Sainsbury’s
  • Flan McNamara, construction director, Sellar Property Group
  • Simon Newton, head of engineering (projects), London Underground
  • Linda Shillaw, divisional chief executive, property, Manchester Airport

The Construction News Awards are celebrating 21 years of recognising the very best contractors in the UK.
