Healthcare construction specialist MTX Contracts Ltd acquires facilities management provider Elite Group
Healthcare Modern Methods of Construction specialist MTX Contracts Ltd has acquired Elite Group, a well-established facilities management and engineering services provider.
The acquisition marks an exciting milestone for MTX as the business continues to strengthen its maintenance, small works and FM capabilities to support both existing healthcare clients and the wider NHS estate.
With the NHS reporting a maintenance backlog valued at more than £16 billion, the combined capability of MTX and Elite presents a significant opportunity to support healthcare organisations in addressing critical estate requirements. The acquisition will allow both businesses to respond to increased demand, share expertise and drive sustainable long-term growth.

MTX identified Elite as the ideal partner to complement its existing infrastructure, due to the close alignment of culture, service offering and growth ambitions. The transaction was completed on 28 November 2025, with Daniel Bowman appointed as Managing Director of Elite Group.
Founded in 2002, MTX is a family-owned construction and engineering company which has grown to become a leading national specialist in the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of hospital facilities. The company currently directly employs more than 85 people and has a turnover of £130m.

MTX Contracts recently completed the delivery of 365 offsite manufactured structural steel modules for the construction of the new Surgical Elective Centre at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. The 7,541 sqm five-storey surgical centre for Oxford University Hospitals (OUH) NHS Foundation Trust will open in summer 2026.+
