Sunbelt Rentals welcomes Acorn Film and Video
Sunbelt Rentals is pleased to announce the acquisition of Belfast-based camera and equipment rental business Acorn Film & Video Limited, a specialist partner to Northern Ireland's film and TV industry.
The acquisition of Acorn further strengthens Sunbelt Rentals’ regional presence in Belfast, following the acquisitions of PKE Lighting, Movietech, Media Access Solutions and Alpha Grip in 2022.
Owner Roger Fitzpatrick and his team will remain at the helm, working closely with Sunbelt Rentals’ film and TV teams, led by Managing Director Mike Pollard, a former owner of PKE Lighting.

Operating from two specialist film and TV locations located in Belfast, Sunbelt Rentals will provide specialist camera, lighting and grip equipment, which will be complemented by our existing product range of power, plant, fencing, welfare and temporary infrastructure solutions.
This latest business decision complements our UK film and TV offering, with other regional centres located in Manchester, Cardiff, and London. It also strengthens our commitment to the film and TV industry, providing new opportunities for development and training while building on our ongoing partnerships and other regional talent and industry opportunities.
Acorn Film and Video has been supplying equipment to the industry for over 25 years. With decades of experience supporting Irish and international filmmakers, their current 10,000-square-foot purpose-built facility located in Belfast’s Queens Quarter incorporates a studio, camera testing facilities, kit rooms, a post-production suite and administrative and production offices.
