Wernick Hire Wins at Morgan Sindall’s Regional Supply Chain Awards
Wernick Hire, Britain’s leading provider of modular and portable buildings, has won the Supply Chain Family award at the Morgan Sindall Construction East Regional Supply Chain Awards. On Friday 13th May 2022, Wernick’s Hire division was honoured for their valuable contribution in supplying a bespoke cabin suitable for a project of a sensitive nature.
The nomination was sent by Alex Pett, Site Manager at the George McKenzie House Resource Centre. The cabin supplied for this contract was delivered in April 2021. It was an anti-ligature unit that was required at Fulbourn hospital for visitors to meet with loved ones during the pandemic. When asked about Wernick’s efforts, Alex stated, “They went above and beyond to assist on a difficult request where others had failed to rise to the challenge”.
Depot Manager at Wernick Hire, Sophie Garrad, had been the point of contact for the client from start to finish. Her duties permitted her to lead with the client’s enquiry and follow across to the delivery stage. The job led Sophie to stay with the client through all phases of the process, which included meeting the Site Manager at the depot to show him the progress of his chosen cabin. Sophie commented, “Initially, I was shocked as the nomination was nearly a year after the job had first started. I was really flattered that the Site Manager had remembered the hard work that we put in.”
Morgan Sindall Construction’s purpose for the award is to be used as a recognition for their supplier’s contribution to the project. Peter Puttock, Senior Supply Chain Manager at Morgan Sindall Construction commented, “The nature of this award goes to demonstrate that when we need our supply chain to step up and support us in our needs. Wernick has done this”.
All winners will now join Morgan Sindall Construction this autumn in Leicester for the national awards. Wernick wish the best of luck to all the other nominees.
