Wernick delivers new SEND classroom block
Wernick Buildings has delivered a new single storey SEND classroom block at Ty Gwyn Special School in Cardiff.
The school required additional facilities as they had begun to reach their maximum pupil capacity. As a result, Cardiff Council ran a mini competition through the SEWSCAP framework which was won by Wernick Buildings.
It was important for the new classrooms to be suitable for pupils who may have extra behavioural or sensory challenges. Wernick upgraded their standard specification to accommodate the particular needs of the pupils.
Despite the outbreak of COVID19, Wernick completed the project in time for the new term, enforcing social distancing measures and strict health and safety protocols to ensure work on the project could continue safely.
