Refurbished Modular Building Delivered in Nick of Time for York School
Wernick Refurbished Buildings, based in York, supplied Archbishop Holgate’s school with a 14 modular building in just a few weeks.
The company takes existing buildings and brings them back to life, reducing the amount of materials needed and the amount of waste to landfill.
The solution also saves a significant amount of money for customers like Archie’s school who have a limited budget to work to.
Production of the building started in the last week of February and installation took place over the Easter break.
For the duration of the school?s summer exams, the school used the buildings folding partition wall to turn divided classrooms into an open-plan examination room.
Archie’s school numbers have increased from 700 to 1,700 in the last 7 years meaning that existing buildings were full to capacity.
With an imminent influx of new pupils, the school manager John Stone contacted his local modular building provider for a quote.
John struck up a rapport with Wernick’s Shaid Hanif who worked to the schools budget and timetable - ensuring the best quality for the building and the minimum of disruption to school life.
John commented: “Most people have a visual of ancient modular classrooms. This building is clean, warm, dry and leagues away from the previous teaching space – and it was completed in record time.”
