Bloodstock Open Air Case Study

Wernick Events Are Part of the Team at Bloodstock Open Air Festival

By Wernick Events in Industry News

The Bloodstock Open Air festival in Derbyshire attracts over 15,000 music fans ever year. Its founder Paul R. Gregory is an acclaimed artist who has been involved in the music industry for years. He was famously commissioned to produce the cover artwork for Saxon’s Crusader album, released in 1984.

From 2001 to 2005, the first Bloodstock festivals took place indoors before demand moved the festival outdoors. Catton Hall was selected as the venue to keep ties with the area and to allow growth in size without losing the festivals established friendly atmosphere. 2018s headliners were Judas Priest, Gojira and Nightwish. As you may have guessed, the bands gracing Bloodstocks four stages are some of the heaviest around.

This year Bloodstock entered into their second three year deal with Wernick Events. Events onsite team know what is required and where, helping to facilitate a seamless installation of units. Heather McMillan, Site Manager at festival organisers’ SC Productions, (contracted by AMust4Music) works closely with David McCallum, Event Coordinator for Wernick Events. Dave, she says “knows Bloodstock as well as any of us and he is always on call if we have any issues.”

Bloodstock choose a wide range of products for a range of requirements both backstage and within the festival itself. Backstage, a production area is established for staff, with offices, communications and rest areas. Storage areas are supplied for equipment. Changing rooms, showers and toilets and provided for bands. And sleeper units house the hard-working crew.

Out in the festival ground, Wernick ticket offices are in use and if you choose to get a permanent memento of Bloodstock, youd find yourself in a Wernick cabin set up as a hygienic piercing and tattoo studio!

The ongoing partnership has a number of benefits says Heather: “Wernick not only have units locally to the event but they provide a great service. Units come in on time and in the right order – if we are ahead of schedule, we can work with Wernick to change the schedule, getting cabins onsite of offsite early. Wernick are great to work with and they are an invaluable member of the site team.”
