Celebrating Women in Construction Week & International Women's Day : Evolution and Advancement

By MPBA in Industry News

In honour of Women in Construction Week and International Women's Day, we take a moment to celebrate the trailblazing ladies who are making significant strides in the industry.

Construction has been a male-dominated sector, but women are now breaking barriers and leading the charge in changing that narrative. As the Marketing & Communications Lead at The Modular and Portable Building Association (MPBA), Kate Hipkiss is leaving a significant mark on the industry.

Kate’s primary focus is to enhance the MPBA’s visibility on social media but her role extends far beyond this. She plays a critical part in managing the association’s customer relationship management, ensuring seamless communication and developing valuable relationships with members, Kate also oversees the organisation of exhibitions, general meetings and networking events – creating key spaces for professionals to connect, learn and collaborate.

In essence, she is a driving force who makes things happen. Whilst she often works tirelessly behind the scenes, her presence is felt across the industry, where she is widely known and respected.

As we celebrate Women in Construction Week, we salute the collective strength of all women in construction. Women who are proving that with determination, collaboration and resilience – they are building a more inclusive, innovative and stronger industry for everyone. Their contributions are changing the landscape of construction, fostering diversity and ensuring that the future of the sector is more representative of the society it serves.

Let's continue to support and celebrate these incredible women, ensuring their voices are heard, their achievements acknowledged and their legacies celebrated for years to come.
