Press Release: Nixon Hire Achieve FORS Silver Across Their Entire Northern England Region

Nixon Hire have recently been awarded FORS Silver across all of their northern England Depots; Carlisle, Newcastle, Stockton, Castleford and Warrington.

The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a national accreditation scheme which measures fleet performance. It sets higher standards for safety, efficiency, environmental protection and overall excellence in fleet operations.

Through a rigorous auditing process, Nixon Hire have been able to demonstrate a range of important qualities including their commitment to reducing fuel consumption and vehicle emissions, first-class service to customers, safe systems of work and continued training in their Transport Department.

Holding FORS Silver confirms that Nixon Hire continue to exceed expectations whilst providing peace of mind to customers that they are meeting industry standards.

The process has involved a lot of hard work compiling evidence for submission to ensure driver and vehicle standards are up to scratch – a big thank you to everyone involved and to our Depot management team for getting Drivers through all of their training modules.”

Transforming their transport fleet operations forms a key part of Nixon Hire’s company-wide ESG strategy.

To help shape the future of the construction industry and drive real change for the environment, Nixon Hire have made great efforts to become more sustainable and help shape the future including signing up to ‘Pledge To Net Zero’ and being a member of the ERA Sustainability Committee, as well as signing up to become a member of the Construction Leadership Council.

Nixon Hire work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure they continue to meet industry regulations and guidelines and to achieve their goal that the remainder of their Depot network will achieve FORS Silver accreditation by the end of 2024.
