GAP Hire Solutions proudly joins the celebration of Family Business Week 2023, emphasising this year's theme, "Future Leaders." This week-long event aims to spotlight innovative family business leaders and organisations, shaping the landscape for the next generation.

The Heart of Family Business 

Established in 1969 by Gordon Anderson, GAP Hire Solutions has thrived for 54 years, maintaining its status as a family-run business with core family values. Joint Managing Directors, Douglas and Iain Anderson, sons of Gordon Anderson, continue to play a pivotal role in the success of GAP since joining the business in 1978 and 1984, respectively.

The Legacy Continues  

The family business roots run deep, with third generations actively contributing to GAP's success. Mark Anderson joined in 2008, now serving as the Managing Director of the North. Karen Greenshields joined in 2009, now serving as the Managing Director of Technical and Environmental Services In 2016, James Anderson came on board, going on to hold the role of Head of Asset Management and Supply Chain. Finally, in 2018, Nicola Anderson joined and now works as part of our Commercial Team as a Senior Commercial Analyst.

Each have taken on significant roles within the company, showcasing the enduring legacy of the Anderson family.

Growth at GAP

Whilst remaining a family business, throughout the years GAP has grown and evolved to keep up with the ever-changing market. Following the achievement of national coverage in 2007, GAP continued to add expert divisions and depot locations to meet growing customer-demands. This growth allows GAP to provide a one-stop-shop with fast availability and reliability for all of our customers.

Success within GAP as a family business couldn’t have been clearer in 2023 when we scooped two prestigious awards at the Family Business of the Year Awards. The company was honoured as the Supreme Champion Family Business of the Year and Scottish Family Business of the Year. Joint Managing Director, Iain Anderson, accepted these accolades on behalf of GAP.
