Big Bang Fair

Wernick Events help Science Fair go off with a Bang!

By Wernick Events in Industry News

The Big Bang Fair is the UK’s largest celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths for young people.

Held at the NEC, Birmingham, The Big Bang is an award-winning combination of exciting theatre shows, interactive workshops and exhibits, with careers information from STEM professionals. The show has grown hugely seeing their visitors grown from 6500 at their first show in 2009 to a huge 70,000 in 2016.

This year’s fair was expected to see more visitors than ever, so ample seating needed to be provided for the presentations, shows and talks that would go on throughout the event. Wernick Events were chosen as suppliers by event project managers Fresh, after impressing them at The Skills Show.

The Events Team provided over 2000 flat floor tip-up seats, and more than 500 tiered tip-up seats for shows and presentations in the Super Theatre and at 5 stages around the venue.  The seats were erected a few days before the event began, but had to be removed on the evening that the fair closed. This gave the events team just 5 hours to safely dismantle and remove all 2500 seats.

James Marchant, Project Manager with Fresh was impressed with the service provided by the Events Team. He told us; “Wernick provided a hugely professional service on site. I was impressed not only with the speed of the crews, but with their approach to the work. They worked safely on the seating stands and the crew chief kept me constantly updated on their progress.”
