Wernick Hire to the Rescue at Durham County Elections

By Wernick Hire Ltd in Industry News

Durham County Council needed urgent assistance to avoid letting down voters.

Just days before the local Crime Commissioner elections were about to begin, the Council received a delivery of portable buildings from another supplier, only to find they were far too small to accommodate the equipment necessary to create a polling booth.

Thankfully, the Council knew they could rely on portable accommodation specialists, Wernick Hire Ltd.

The Gateshead Hire Team were asked to provide 15 buildings in total, with each one suitable to accommodate polling booths and workspace for the Electoral Team. The lack of time until the election presented a significant challenge for the team to overcome; “It was a quick turnaround time for the units, which proved challenging,” Commented Tony Ampleford, Regional Director for Wernick Hire, “but with all hands to the pump we got everything delivered on time.”

The Hire team pulled together, and managed to source and deliver the buildings in less than 3 days from initial enquiry.

Keith Marston; Building Repairs and Maintenance Manager for the Council, emailed the Hire Team after the event to express his thanks. He wrote; “We were grateful to Wernick for stepping in at such short notice to supply us with the units we needed. We want to send a really big thank you from all of the Electoral Team to Tony and the Gateshead branch.”
