Wernick Hire's Greenspace achieves generic EPC 'A' Rating*

By Wernick Hire Ltd in Industry News

We are pleased to announce that our Greenspace Sureguard units have achieved a generic Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of ‘A’*.

This rating will help our clients lower their carbon footprint and also reduce their energy bills.

When compared to part eco units over a year of use, these cabins save 2.3 tonnes of KgCO2, equating to a reduction of 84%. A weeks comparison for same units found a typical saving of 226 kWh of electric and 43.98kg of carbon.*

Wernick Hire's Managing Director, Michael Thistlethwaite commented, “Wernick Hire is truly committed to reducing carbon emissions both in our operations and the products we supply to our clients. The introduction of the first EPC ‘A’ rated anti-vandal site accommodation unit to the hire market is something we are very proud of. Not only does this unit dramatically reduce CO2, it reduces primary energy use by 73% against its part ECO equivalent”.

The Greenspace Sureguard units also successfully completed a fire test at fire testing specialists, Warringtonfire, demonstrating that the cabins meet the vertical stacking requirements set out in HSG168.

*Comparison is based on a single unit layout, calculated in a consistent specific location and orientation, in accordance with the NCM at the time of calculation. EPC ratings away from that specific location and orientation are different and reliant on a range of variable factors.
