New CPD now available: ‘How to Design for Offsite Construction’

There’s no doubt that offsite methods represent the future of the construction industry. At Algeco, we’re keen to help industry professionals learn more about offsite construction - and explode the odd myth along the way!

That’s why we’ve launched a brand-new, accredited online CPD course, which is already proving popular with specifiers and architects. ‘Form Follows Function - How to Design for Offsite Construction’, which is certified by the CPD Certification Service, is available to view as an online learning module here.

However you choose to access it, by the end of the module, you’ll:

  1. Discover how offsite construction can help you to meet your building performance targets, whilst delivering safe, efficient and beautiful structures.
  2. Develop a greater understanding of the 7 types of modular construction.
  3. Gain a technical and practical understanding of the benefits of offsite and modular construction.

The CPD uses a Design for Manufacture & Assembly (DfMA) overlay to the conventional Plan of Work to highlight the differences between offsite and traditional construction, while case studies from architects illustrate what can be achieved with offsite.

The CPD also covers common questions around fire safety, planning and sustainability, before finishing with practical guidance on design considerations and optimising building performance.
