Kloeckner's Organically Coated Steel Is Tailored to the Needs of Modular
The modular sector has specific needs and requirements. Discussions with our customers from the sector revealed that their three key priorities are sustainability, fire ratings and corrosion resistance. At Kloeckner’s Organically Coated Steels plant in Kidderminster, we have the product offering and supply chain to fulfil these specific requirements of the modular sector.
Here’s how we do it:
Sustainability:
At Kloeckner Metals UK we are passionate about our part in building a sustainable future and minimising the impact on our planet. Within our supply chain we have the ability to source green steel flat products that are based on CO₂ savings. These alternative products come with certificate and allow our customers to report a corresponding reduction in their Scope 3 CO₂ emissions.
Fire Rating:
We understand the importance of A1 fire rating in the modular construction industry as it increases safety and fire resistance. Given the latest Building Safety Regulations in the UK, A1 fire rating is essential, especially for components that make up the external wall systems of buildings.
Corrosion Resistance:
For long-lasting structures, the corrosion resistance of products is crucial. At Organically Coated Steels, we have a range of polyurethane and polyester products that are more environmentally friendly and offer A1 fire rating and RC5 corrosion resistance with up to 40-year warranties available.
The Kloeckner Mindset
Talking about how the team at Organically Coated Steels functions, Darren Millward, Commercial Manager, says: ‘We work towards building supply chain partners who can share ideas and work towards a common goal. We are a forward-thinking supplier who is committed to our vision; we are not looking for short-term gains that undermine the longer-term target of a more sustainable tomorrow.’

Processing Options Fit for the Modular Industry
We are also able to offer complementary procession options for the modular industry at Organically Coated Steels. Our in-house team of experts can offer guidance on the selection of the correct product for your requirements. We also offer the following processing options to customise products to meet your requirement perfectly:
We have recently invested in a new RR Type 1 Pallet Inverter which allows us to supply customers with inverted materials ready for immediate applications. This helps them increase efficiency, it streamlines their labour costs as materials don’t require manual turning and further helps with H&S by reducing workplace injuries associated with heavy lifting during turning.
