Genquip-Groundhog are honoured with an International CSR Award

Genquip-Groundhog, the leading manufacturer of sustainable welfare units and temporary accommodation units, has been awarded with an International CSR Excellence Award in a campaign to find the companies with the best social responsibility initiatives.

Genquip-Groundhog competed against more than 500 other nominations in the International CSR Excellence Awards 2022, and they will be presented with their trophy and certificate at a glittering presentation ceremony at the world-famous Waldorf, London on May 30.

As part of the award entry, Genquip-Groundhog put forward their energy saving, inclusive Unisex SolarLoo, which is a combined male and female toilet system that is designed for use on construction sites.

The Unisex SolarLoo female area features a low flush eco-toilet with a 400 litre waste tank. The male compartment also has low flush eco-toilet and two 1200mm waterless urinals. Also included is a 1200mm stainless steel wash basin. Both female and male users of the Unisex SolarLoo benefit from warm water supplied by an on-board heating system administered by the latest Webasto Thermo top system that is designed to protect the engine and save fuel. The compact Thermo Top heater will operate from Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) fuel. HVO fuel is a renewable diesel alternative based on vegetable oils, grease and similar residue.

The Unisex SolarLoo power is from a combination of solar and battery power, and therefore emits ultra-low emissions.

The CSR Excellence Awards are run by The Green Organisation - an international, independent, non-profit, non-political environment group that began in 1994 to recognise, reward and promote social responsibility best practice around the world.
