Pickerings, the national supplier of modular buildings and portable accommodation, has won a multi-million pound Government contract to provide temporary facilities for use as Covid-19 test centres.

Over 200 building modules with related products and services will be delivered and installed on sites nationwide as part of a full turnkey package. The temporary testing facilities will be ready to use within weeks.

As well as building modules Pickerings will also be providing the full range of equipment from its Pickerings+ range including groundworks, wi-fi telecommunications, water supply, waste water emptying, fire alarms, generators and fuel management.

Pickerings Managing Director, Neil Moss, said “We are very pleased to be supporting the NHS and helping the nation’s fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. We will be supplying building solutions from all our depots and supporting local communities across the country. This contract shows the flexibility our modular buildings provide in meeting a variety of uses as well as our ability to respond quickly to immediate requirements.”

Pickerings won the work on the back of their place on the Government’s Crown Commercial Service (CCS) Modular Buildings Framework. Suppliers were selected using a combination of both qualitative and commercial measures, providing assurance to customers that the framework provides access to the lowest cost suppliers in the market.
