Nixon Hire Makes New Appointments To Further Strengthen Its Senior Management Team

We are delighted to announce four further appointments to our Senior Management Team, all of which have been carefully selected to help us achieve our exciting growth and expansion plans at Nixon Hire.

Brian Cornett - COO

Brian joined Nixon Hire in May 2024 as Chief Operating Officer and we’re thrilled to have him on board. He brings with him a wealth of experience and a background which has a solid foundation in the equipment sales and rental industry, operating across multiple sectors.

He joins Nixon Hire from Cross Rental Services, where he served as UK Operations Director. Prior to this he was co-founder of Speedy Hire’s Power Division, establishing the business in 2000 and undertaking several senior roles there including; Engineering and Operations Director and Managing Director for Speedy Power’s Compressed Air Division before taking over as Managing Director for all Speedy Power Businesses.  

In his role as COO, Brian will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and effective execution of our business strategy.

“As COO, I will be involved in and supporting all areas of the business. If we can improve a business function, realise a better way, or add value in any way at all, I will support the team in making this happen. I will be championing the Depot delivery network and central support functions that play a pivotal role in customer service delivery.”

Andrew Shaw - Head of Modular Buildings 

Andrew joined Nixon Hire in March 2024, as Head of Modular Buildings, responsible for overseeing all aspects of this newly expanded division.

We continue to tighten our focus on site accommodation, and after many years of working with strategic rehire partners to provide our customers with modular units, we’re pleased to have made the strategic decision to invest in our own fleet of high-quality modular buildings.

Andrew brings over 14 years of experience to this new role of Head of Modular Buildings. Prior to joining Nixon Hire, Andrew held several senior roles including Business Development Manager at Sibcas, Head of Business Development at Thurston Group, Field Sales Manager at Algeco and UK Business Development Manager at Procomm Site Services Ltd. In each role, Andrew has consistently demonstrated his ability to drive growth and forge strong client relationships. He has a commitment to innovation, operational excellence and professional development and we’re pleased that he is bringing these qualities with him to Nixon Hire.

Paul Corney - Head of Central Revenue Generation & Rehire

Paul joined Nixon Hire in 2015 as Rehire Manager, later advancing to Group Rehire Manager. During his 9 years at Nixon Hire, Paul has successfully met ambitious sales growth targets and we’re pleased to have introduced the role of Head of Central Revenue Generation & Rehire which Paul now proudly holds.

Prior to joining Nixon Hire, Paul held senior sales roles in the telecoms industry for almost 20 years, spending 11 years at BT and nearly 6 years at Sky, where he contributed to the introduction of Broadband technology and BT TV while overseeing outsourced partnerships.

Drawing from my 20 years of experience in sales environments, I aim to propel our overall revenue performance, aligning with our company's growth targets, encompassing both core and rehire sectors. It's a pivotal moment for Nixon Hire, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to shape our Internal Revenue Generation division and foster the continued expansion of our rehire business.”

Andy Gordon - Technical Sales Director (Renewable Power)

Andy Gordon joined Nixon Hire in May 2024 as Technical Sales Director and we're delighted to have him on board.

Andy has a strong background in technical product support, joining Nixon Hire from Sunbelt Rentals - Power, where he served as Head of Electrical Services, ensuring that all electrical works were installed in-line with current electrical regulations. As well as ensuring that all carbon reducing solutions were installed and commissioned to the highest standard. Prior to this role, he held the role of National Business Development Manager at Sunbelt Rentals – Power, which included the design of customer technical applications UK wide. Before joining Sunbelt, Andrew was Technical Manager at Apex/Abird Power Solutions (a division of HSS), designing power applications and overseeing installations.

In his new role here at Nixon Hire, Andy will be responsible for managing, growing and upskilling the renewable power sales team, ensuring products are installed efficiently and accurately, to meet customers’ specific requirements for the duration of their hires.

“As Technical Sales Director, I will be involved in and supporting the power business on a technical basis, working closely with our customers in order to work towards a more sustainable power offering and introducing new sustainable solutions.”
