Britcab win tender for Leicester Council project.
Britcab has beaten off competition from a number of other companies to procure a£1.1m contract from Leicester City Council.
The ambitious programme consisted of 7 classrooms at 7 different schools to refurbish, install and handover in a 10-week time period.
Here at Britcab we understand the need to respond quickly to changing population demographics, so we always have a large stock of standard classroom buildings available which can be installed and completed within weeks.
We already had all 7 classroom buildings in stock and these have been refurbished in house at our new head office in Tholthorpe, near York.6 of these were double classrooms and 1 was an 8 bay two storey modular building.
In addition to supplying the buildings we also provided a full project management service completing such works as...
• Site clearance & foundations
• Surface water drainage systems
• DDA compliant steps & ramps to external doors either timber or concrete
• Connections to services e.g. electricity, water, drainage, telephones and IT/data
• Fencing
• IT installations
Britcab have expanded rapidly since their inception in 2008 and turnover is expected to exceed £7m in 2016.
“We are delighted to have been awarded this contract by Leicester Council. We have been able to utilise existing buildings, refurbish these in house using our experienced workforce and deliver/install on site in just 10 weeks. The contract from Leicester Council is a clear indication of how far we have come these first 7 years and we look forward to handing over the classrooms by the end of the summer” Britcab Director Andy Wilkinson
