Our Wolverhampton Depot Workshop Goes Green!

By Nixon Hire in Industry News

Earlier this year, we announced the opening of our new Wolverhampton Depot. Standing as our first flagship renewables Depot, we’re proud to be able to supply significantly more eco-friendly and renewable power products to people across West Midlands.

As well as a strong focus on providing sites in the area with renewable products, we’re pleased that our Wolverhampton Depot is now the first of our nationwide Depots to have renewable power technology implemented to efficiently power the way the Depot itself is run.

In a move to make our ‘behind the scenes’ operations self-sufficient and carbon neutral, solar panels have recently been added to the roof of our Wolverhampton workshop. Our workshops are used all day, every day by the team and having the addition of the roof mounted solar panels allows us to harvest our own electric and significantly reduce carbon emissions.

What's Next For This Flagship Depot?

Electric vehicle charging points have also been installed to allow employees and visitors with electric vehicles to charge their cars on site. Other upcoming eco-friendly measures include introducing rainwater harvesting to recycle rain and surface water to clean products available for customers to hire as well as adding living walls to provide natural layers of building insulation.

It is great to see the benefits this sort of sustainable setup can easily bring to our operations and to the surrounding environment – setting the standard of Depots across the business moving forward.
