Butlin’s: Phase 3.
Our collaboration with Butlin's began in 2020 when we designed and built fully turn-key entertainment venues at each resort, branded as Studio 36. Initially conceived as additional space for socially distanced entertainment, the venues proved to be so useful that a multiple phase process was started, aimed at creating versatile and adaptable spaces to meet Butlin's evolving requirements.
Phase 2 focussed on providing better back-of-house facilities for performers and crew.
The project has now progressed to Phase 3, with our focus on the transition of these temporary structures to the standards of permanent ones whilst retaining the core environmental benefit of being relocatable at some point in the future.
Key upgrades include improved wall and roof insulation with enhanced U-Values for better thermal insulation, and increased Rw Values for superior noise reduction. Additional linked buildings have also been installed at all three resorts to provide improved toilet and bar facilities.
A key development was to design a retrofittable roof liner that was light enough to retain sufficient rigging capacity whilst being compliant with Building Regulations. This was achieved with a unique mixture of high-tech flame-retardant PVC foam sheeting overlaid with a deep layer of natural sheep’s wool insulation.
Our dedication to providing tailor-made solutions and our commitment to excellence continue to solidify our partnership with Butlin's as we work together to continue to create memorable experiences for their guests.
