The answer goes back to 2007 when Gary Sheppard first started GCS Cabins, his prime motivator was the knowledge gleaned during his experience installing modular & portable buildings.
He saw, first hand the difficulties faced by many of the people who had entered the process of acquiring a modular building for their business, and the lack of guidance and sound advice available on what is actually a particularly challenging and complex process.
Gary realised that there was a pressing need to provide a genuine advisory service to those who were embarking on, what is, a major project with many opportunities for error and poor choice. He decided to provide exactly that valuable, helpful, service to all GCS’s clients.
The fact that GCS continues to go from strength to strength with many clients returning time & time again suggests that he was ahead of his time and the service was very much needed.
An uninformed first-time buyer of portable or modular buildings is faced with many options and challenges and realise it’s ‘more than just a building’.
The first problem is the manufacturers all specialise in a certain sector and type of building, which may or may not suit the needs of the buyer.
This could range from a basic unit for a construction site that offers secure storage but little else, through to welfare units that offer WC’s and basic kitchen facilities, then onto ultra secure steel-clad anti-vandal units, then the more luxurious modular buildings – offices and classrooms with all the sophisticated internal and external fittings that you could imagine or want.
Then there is the question – how portable does it need to be, will a single Jack-leg unit fit the bill that can be moved with ease, or a more permanent structure of say, ten double classrooms in a double storey configuration?
Choose the wrong manufacturer and you could get a building that is not fit for purpose.
The first conversation clients have with GCS is an in-depth discussion with a design manager on what the space is needed for, how many people does it need to accommodate, what facilities are required, what is your budget and timeframe along with many, many other pertinent questions.
Only then will your design manager, who, by the way will remain your single point of contact throughout your experience, (no being passed from department to department) identify the perfect option for your needs and manage the process from start to finish.
However, that is just the start, and the complicated stuff is only just beginning!
We are happy to take control of as much or as little as you like, your choice, your decision but here are some of the things you need to organise or delegate.
So, as you can see, acquiring a modular building can be a complicated project and best embarked upon with friendly, experienced help close to hand – which is why we use the phrase “More than just a Building” in our logo.
It is not just about the building it’s about a whole lot more.
To ensure you acquire a building you can be proud of, hassle free, at the price you want is a major project and who better to guide you than the guys at GCS Cabins who do it day in, day out so you don’t need too.
