Artez Interiors (Cube Space)
We helped Artez Interiors with a major office space project in Manchester by supplying 42 modified 20ft Shipping Containers.
Artez Interiors is a building developer primarily based in Northwest England. In 2022, the construction firm won the opportunity to build the modern and unique ‘Cube Space’ project located at Old Granada Studios in Manchester and came to us to help construct the new development.
The building is comprised of a steel frame structure with 42 elevated 20ft High Cube Shipping Containers. For this project, we removed the cargo doors and end panels and painted all visible container parts jet black (Ral 9005). The side panels of many containers were also removed to create a variety of mixed office spaces with 22 single units (130sq ft each), four double units (260sq ft each) and four triple units (390sq ft each).
We were looking forward to making a start on such a prestigious project but having limited knowledge on recycled shipping containers we needed an experienced team around us to deliver it. Having met with local container suppliers, we eventually engaged Cleveland and found Eddie, James, and the team to be not only extremely knowledgeable in terms of their buildability and sustainability ideas and suggestions, but as a company, commercially competitive.

Once the containers were secured in place, Artez Interiors created a simple, yet cool, interior fit-out to all units with every office space featuring full length windows, sliding doors, heating, lighting, electrics, and phone and data ports.
There is a communal area on each of the three levels with accessible WCs, lifts, and high-spec kitchenettes, with external walkways and staircases linking all aspects of the building together.
The units will be rented out by small and independent businesses that require working space in the busy city centre of Manchester.
We are extremely pleased with the result at Cube Space and although we currently have no container projects in the pipeline, we look forward to completing more schemes of a similar nature in future.
