We are a world leading supplier of temporary and permanent catering infrastructure for hire and sale. 

PKL Group is the UK’s leading provider of outsourced catering infrastructure solutions. This includes the supply of temporary kitchens and catering equipment for hire, major event kitchen complexes, permanent modular kitchen buildings, the complete management of catering equipment estate assets, and containerised and modular kitchen facilities for overseas clients.

The company was formed in 1988 when former Chairman Peter Joy identified a niche for the provision of rented heavy duty catering equipment within a freestanding, standardised portable unit. Now operating from its head office in Bishop’s Cleeve, just outside of Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, PKL has successfully completed over 10,000 temporary kitchen hires throughout the UK and around the world.

In August 2019, PKL was acquired by Lowe Corporation, a world leading supplier of refrigeration and catering equipment for rental, thus starting the next exciting chapter in the PKL Group story.

In October 2023, we celebrated our 35 year anniversary. From initially supplying portable kitchen units, PKL has grown to be one of the largest providers of temporary and permanent kitchen infrastructure in the world.

PKL has delivered a range of temporary and permanent solutions, both throughout the UK and around the world, in a wide variety of end user sectors. As well as serving many public and private sector markets on a daily basis throughout the UK, we are vastly experienced in delivering solutions around the world for projects such as the Commonwealth and Olympic Games and rapid response camp kitchens for Military and Charitable organisations.

With a management and senior operations team that has a collective experience of well over 100 years of working for the company and a purpose built head office and warehouse facility, PKL offers an unrivalled level of products and service within the industry including 600 purpose built Portable Kitchen units and 10,000 items of catering equipment available to hire.

In addition to temporary kitchen solutions, PKL also supplies permanent modular kitchen buildings from Grab and Go Food Cubes to large scale Modular Cafe and Dining Facilities which are designed and constructed off-site. We have supplied around 300 permanent kitchen buildings over the last few years.

Our Values

Much of our continued success is linked to our extensive knowledge, experience and to the quality of our products. We have more than thirty years of trading experience, combined service of more than seven hundred and seventy-five years, more than fifty percent of our staff have more than five years’ service and more than thirty-five percent of our staff have more than ten years’ service. We’ve delivered to thirty-six countries, supported sixteen major sporting events and manage more than five hundred hires a year.

But that’s only half of the story. How PKL works together as a team is perhaps more important to our continued success. Because of this, we’ve worked hard to identify the values that we think are inherent within our team and at the same time make sure that we all know what our customers should expect from us as a company.
