Wernick acquire Robert Purvis Plant Hires portable accommodation fleet

The new acquisition of the Robert Purvis portable cabin fleet will add 1,600 units to the Wernick Hire stock and strengthen their position as the primary hirer of cabins and modular buildings in Scotland.

As part of the acquisition, Wernick have also purchased 2.5 acres of concreted yard surrounding their existing Lochgelly depot. This will take the depot to a size of 3.9 acres providing a much greater ability to supply for the central belt of Scotland.

A new eight bay modular office will also be manufactured and delivered from sister company Wernick Buildings.

Wernick Group’s Chairman, David Wernick commented, “This acquisition brings Wernick Hire’s UK fleet spend up to £28 million pounds for 2020 and we welcome the eight new members of staff who have joined us from Robert Purvis.”

Other investments by Wernick in Scotland includes £1 million pound spend by Wernick Power Solutions on new generators for the hire market and half a million spent on capital works to their Coatbridge depot. Subject to planning, Wernick is also looking to invest a further £4 million pounds on sites for their Inverness and Dundee depots.
