Kevin Hollinrake MP Opens New Factory for Wernick Refurbished Buildings
Wernick Refurbished Buildings’ new premises in Shipton, York were opened on the 5th April by MP for Thirsk and Malton, Kevin Hollinrake.
Wernick Refurbished Buildings was formerly known as PK Accommodation and has been part of the Wernick Group since 2004. The company specialises in the refurbishment and re-sale of modular buildings and cabins and is one of the UK’s leading providers, backed by an extensive stock of buildings. Its recent expansion follows a period of steady growth in the business. The new premises will be five times larger than the previous facility, offering significant additional space to enable the business to expand.
Alan Barnes, General Manager of Wernick Refurbished Buildings told us: “There were huge frustrations at the old site owing to poor ground conditions and the lack of factory space which were a particular problem in the winter months. The new site overcomes not only these problems but also gives us significantly more storage capacity in order to maintain a large and varied stock. All this combined will allow us to drive the business forward.”
The new premises will benefit from several additional investments including a state of the art working at height safety line system to protect staff.
The move will also bring jobs to the local area of Shipton as Wernick Refurbished Buildings plans to increase the level of factory staff by up to 50% to keep up with levels of demand.
Wernick Group Chief Executive, Simon Doran, commented, “It has taken us some years to identify a suitable location and we are delighted with the new factory facility. With the additional manufacturing and storage space I anticipate a record year for Wernick Refurbished Buildings in 2016, and I forecast significant additional growth over the next five years.”
In his opening remarks Mr Hollinrake stated; “Wernick Refurbished Buildings are bringing important facilities and vital jobs to the local community. Companies like the Wernick Group form the engine of the UK economy, and it is my pleasure to formally open this new facility, which represents an impressive investment in our local area.”
