Celebrating Success at the Made in Britain and MAKE UK Awards
Last week, Morland had the pleasure of attending two prestigious industry events, the Made in Britain Impact Awards and the MAKE UK Regional Dinner. Both events celebrate excellence and innovation across British manufacturing, highlighting businesses that are making a real difference in their sectors and communities.
At the Made in Britain Impact Awards, we were proud to be shortlisted for the Social Impact Award, and were delighted to take home the winner’s trophy on the day. With so many inspiring businesses doing incredible work to support their communities, it was a true honour to be recognised for our ongoing efforts to make a positive difference.
The judges praised Morland’s work, commenting:
“Morland should be highly recognised for its exceptional integration of social impact into leadership, operations, employee care, and community partnerships. It balances breadth and depth with consistency and sincerity.”
Supporting our local community is something we take great pride in, and it remains a key part of who we are as a business.
We were also honoured to attend the MAKE UK Regional Dinner, where Morland was named a finalist in three categories — the Innovation Award, the Manufacturing Matters Award, and Apprentice of the Year, for our very own Nikki Wellsford.
The Manufacturing Matters Award recognised our commitment to making a difference in the community, while the Innovation Award reflected our continued investment in advanced machinery and process improvements, allowing us to increase efficiency and scale the business sustainably.
Apprenticeships are another area we’re deeply passionate about. We currently have five apprentices within the business, and several of our team members who started as apprentices have since progressed into leadership roles. Seeing Nikki shortlisted for Apprentice of the Year is a wonderful reminder of the talent and potential we have within our team.
Although we didn’t take home a trophy at the MAKE UK event, it was an incredible honour to be recognised among such outstanding companies from across Wales. These nominations are a testament to the dedication, innovation, and community spirit that drive Morland forward.
“We’re incredibly proud of what our people have achieved,” said Rachel Jones, Director of Corporate Administration at Morland. “Investing in our people, from apprentices through to experienced team members, is central to who we are. It’s rewarding to see our efforts in community engagement, innovation, and skills development recognised on such a respected platform.”
Looking ahead, Morland will continue to build on this success, expanding our investment in people, technology, and community partnerships to ensure we remain at the forefront of British manufacturing innovation.
