Algeco releases EV chargers for customers on road to zero carbon
Algeco, Europe’s leading modular and offsite building solutions brand, has announced today that it will be offering EV chargers for hire, to meet growing market demand and help businesses transitioning to a low carbon model.
The UK has the second largest plug-in car market in Europe, with 368,617 sales in 2022. However, this is expected to continue to sky-rocket, as the 2030 ban on new petrol and diesel vehicle sales nears.
As the construction industry continues to focus on sustainability and environmental goals, Algeco customers are already relying on EVs, from use of personal vehicles through to construction plant and equipment.
One of the major issues for EV drivers currently is the charging network infrastructure in the UK, which is why Algeco has partnered with Smart Green Chargers to offer customers a range of EV chargers for hire, as well as initiating a programme to install EV chargers at all its 22 sites around the country.
Algeco now offers a nationwide supply and installation service for the full range of EV chargers. These are available on flexible rental terms. Algeco is supporting customers with a full installation service and will issue an Electrical Installation Certificate certificate after each install.
Dependant on customer requirements and budget, Algeco can offer its customers a range of EV charger solutions that can be configured to 7kW, 11kW or 22kW charging based on their requirements.
The proven IP65 rated hardware is built for extreme environments down to -30°C and up to 55°C, so come rain or shine EV users will have access to power. Control and power circuits are completely isolated, to ensure stable, consistent performance. When the local power source is off-grid, the Hybrid power solutions can be used to ensure disruption free charging due to variations in generator power supplies.
For increased safety, if the unit is knocked over, the unit will terminate power automatically, and alerts will be sent to the system administrator. The chargers will have 4G connection and be WiFi enabled.
Cai Challinor, 360 Products and Services Executive at Algeco, said: “Our new EV charger offering will help our customers to meet their sustainability goals, and lessen the environmental impact that the construction industry is having on the world.”
“With the increased demand for EV chargers set to increase rapidly over the next few years, we know how important it is to meet customer demand across our sites, with a reliable, convenient EV Charger offering.”
The Smart Green range of EV chargers is powered by Monta software; one of the most established systems for managing and accessing EV chargers, providing charger availability, slot reservations, remote diagnostics, and more. Flexible payment options including RFID card and mobile payment via the Monta app via wallet, Google Pay and Apple Pay, etc. The Monta app also provides access to over 10,000 EV chargers across the UK.
