How the utility of data can reduce your carbon emissions through power
In today’s digital age, data-driven insights are essential for navigating the complexities of energy management and ensuring a sustainable, efficient future. The utility of real-time analytics and advanced modelling techniques provide the opportunity to streamline operations, identify insufficiencies and track carbon footprints more accurately.
At Wernick Power Solutions, we’ve demonstrated our commitment to building a sustainable future through our ambitious pledge to become net zero by 2040, 10 years ahead of the UK Government’s target. Sustainability is embedded within all aspects of our business operations and product offerings at Wernick Power. Working to a clear roadmap in a detailed carbon management plan, we are developing ambitious policies to reduce our carbon footprint and make our products and services as sustainable as possible.
Our telemetry solution leverages the latest technology products which ultimately enhances efficiency and reduces costs of equipment runtime, through data driven insights that lead to meaningful changes in operations. We utilise several different telemetry systems through our range of products, but the two prime systems we use are Live Link and VRM (Victron Remote Management).
The true value of data goes beyond collection; it’s leveraging that information to make informed decisions that have a tangible impact. With Livelink and VRM telemetry, we gain access to a wealth of insights that enable us to pinpoint inefficiencies and implement targeted strategies to tackle them effectively. This technology empowers customers to make informed decisions, enhancing both efficiency and eco-friendliness through optimised power use, lower utility costs and reduced carbon savings.
Livelink
We utilise Livelink to monitor our JCB fleet of generators, the most advanced in the industry, equipped with innovative telemetry software to track essential metrics such as fuel levels, error messages, low loading, load imbalances, and overall performance. With the clear data and information available, any issues or changes can often be rectified over the phone as opposed to an engineer visiting the site and incurring further delays. With Livelink’s capabilities, our in-house team actively monitor the units to ensure they operate efficiently and effectively, and ensuring our fleet is optimised..
VRM
VRM serves as our telemetry system for battery storage units and solar frames. Similar to Livelink, it delivers critical data to ensure all products operate accurately and at peak efficiency. What sets VRM apart is its ability to instantly identify and resolve issues remotely, minimising the need for on-site visits and reducing wait times for our customers. To maximise productivity, our in-house specialists closely monitor the systems and adjust settings as needed to align with site requirements. With the insights gained from telemetry, our team can analyse product performance and propose solutions that enhance efficiency. This may include downsizing generators or integrating a PUNCH Flybrid system to complement a generator or battery storage unit. Through this solution, we can further reduce your fuel consumption and carbon emissions. We can use the available data to propose solutions to the end user, thus reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions and minimising generator run time.
At Wernick Power Solutions, we take pride in not only offering products, but ensuring our customers receive a comprehensive turnkey solution service. Due to the growing demand from customers for sustainable insights and data, we appointed a full-time Business Information Specialist who collaborates with our supply chain and customers to deliver critical performance reports for sites and projects. These reports not only highlight the savings achieved but also assist customers in lowering operational costs, cutting emissions, and ultimately supporting their journey toward net zero.
The urgency to address climate change has an unprecedented level of urgency for companies. With carbon emissions significantly contributing to global warming, industries are increasingly seeking innovative ways to mitigate their environmental impact. At Wernick Power Solutions, we believe that leveraging data is a key strategy in our mission to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable practices. We invest in products that utilise the highest level of telemetry system to ensure our customers have the best products to benefit their projects, reducing their costs and carbon emissions.
