By Nixon Hire in Industry News

An all-new, completely emission free electric welfare van - perfect for those on the move, now able to do so while creating zero emissions!

A brand new concept in mobile welfare solutions - the electric welfarevan is perfect for those on the move. It is ideal for any eco-conscious sites who have been tasked with meeting ambitious carbon emission reduction targets.

Welfare Facilities

The mess area inside the van provides a comfortable place for people to take a break whilst on site. Users will benefit from a great range of welfare facilities, all designed to ensure the van is complete with everything users need for those on the move projects.

User Friendliness & Safety

Our electric welfarevan has been designed with usability in mind - the van is complete with simple control panels, user guides and audio alerts to ensure you have a smooth experience whilst using the van. For added peace of mind and extra security on the van, it is fitted with heavy-duty locks and an anti-hijack locking system. As an added safety feature, the van's lithium batteries have an internal battery management system to prevent any overheating.

Simple control panel

Designed for ease of use, the van is fitted with two user-friendly control panels which control all amenities inside the van including lights, heaters, hand wash and water boiler. With the simple press of a button, you can choose which amenity to be used. The user dial shows time left on battery based on current usage - a good notification to show when more charge is needed.

Unique QR code

Inside the mess area, users will see a unique QR code that customers can scan with their mobile to view the full user guide for the vehicle - this includes details on how to work the control panels.

USB charging points

The table and seating area includes two USB charging points (C & A) to allow users to charge mobile devices.

Safety

For safety, if the 16A charger is connected and the handbrake is released with the ignition on, an audible alert will alarm the driver that the vehicle is still plugged in, alerting the driver to stop immediately. The vehicle cannot be driven if the vehicle charger is connected.

The dashboard within the Driver's cab, using Ford systems, will conveniently show charging points on their current route, including fast charging points.

Energy Efficiency

With more carbon reduction targets in place than ever before which companies are committed to working towards as part of their ongoing ESG efforts - the electric welfarevan is the perfect way to easily reduce on site emissions and fuel usage.

Mileage - Users will benefit from a 140 mile range at full charge on average – allowing multiple journeys throughout towns and cities completely emission free.

Solar panels - To turn sunlight into electrical energy which will be stored in the van’s leisure battery and used to run the amenities in the van including microwave and boiler.

Energy conserving features - If the sliding side door is open for 15 minutes or longer, the heating will automatically switch off to save energy. All amenities have timers to ensure equipment is not accidentally left switched on.

Load shedding mode - Once the leisure battery has hit 20% or lower, the system will go into load shedding mode and switch off any high powered items such as the microwave to save battery life. Customers will be alerted with an audio alarm which provides notification that more charge is needed.

Large battery capacity - Large capacity battery for welfare facilities, ensuring enough power to use the vans amenities as and when you need.

Multiple charging options - To provide users with multiple charging options depending on their site location, the additional 16A connector to the rear of the van has been added so that users can charge the leisure battery using a mains input. When this charging cable is connected, the microwave can be used without any leisure battery depletion.

Full battery charge  - Whilst the vehicle is on charge, the leisure battery will also be charged, meaning only one charging point is required to charge both the vehicle's traction and leisure batteries. This can be switched off with a single press of a button if you only require the traction batteries to be charged.
