Unveiling the latest on the modular Mortuary & Forensic Centre
AS PRINCIPAL CONTRACTOR WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OTHERS, THE COUNCIL FOR WALTHAM FOREST COMMISSIONED ELITE SYSTEMS GB TO BUILD A NEW FORENSIC CENTRE FOR ITS LONDON BOROUGH.
Constructed from both traditional blockwork and some modular sections with brick slip & Trespa panel finishes, the forensic centre with mortuary capabilities will allow coroners to work diligently while also providing dignified spaces for family members to visit the building for quiet and personal reflection.
Currently the building is well underway behind the courthouse, which remains open and functioning, while our team on site follow the codes of practice outlined by the Considerate Constructors Scheme.
During a site visit in late summer, one of our team members kindly filmed a walk-through of the site as it stood at the time – bustling with construction and various machinery and skilled workmen. We offer this as a glimpse into what it’s like to be on a busy site from the comfort of wherever you are.

THE PROJECT ITSELF REQUIRES AN EXTREME AMOUNT OF EMPATHY AND UNDERSTANDING FOR HOW THE BUILDING WILL BE USED TO SUPPORT THE IMMEDIATE AND WIDER COMMUNITY, AND ALL OF THAT WAS CONSIDERED DURING THE DESIGN STAGE. WE TRULY APPRECIATE BEING PART OF A LARGER PICTURE IN HELPING OUR JUDICIAL SYSTEM AND THE PUBLIC DURING WHAT CAN BE A VERY EMOTIONAL AND SENSITIVE TIME.
