Charles Wilson has announced the acquisition of MTS Plant Hire, a specialist supplier of compact construction machinery based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

Established in 1986, MTS Plant Hire has a long history of delivering great quality and service to its customers, supplying a range of equipment including skid steer loaders, mini excavators and site dumpers.

The acquisition of MTS Plant Hire, which has been self-financed by CW Plant Hire, will not only bring additional plant hire equipment, but a team of experienced engineers and drivers to complement the current Charles Wilson offering.

David Gallagher, Chief Executive, shared his enthusiasm about this partnership: “We’re delighted to add MTS Plant Hire to the Charles Wilson family. With a great fleet of machinery and a fantastic team, this deal really strengthens our position as one of the UK’s leading plant hire companies.
“We wish MTS Group success, as they continue to focus on their specialised electric vehicle business Carryway.”

Charles Wilson has a range of more than 1,000 products and the deal makes it the second largest skid steer hire fleet in the UK. The company acquired the business of M&J Hire Centres last year, taking its network of trading locations to 30 across the UK. Further acquisitions are planned, as the company continues to develop and grow its CW Plant Hire business.
