Carbon Essentials for Construction is a one-day course designed for non-specialists, giving you a practical, working understanding of sustainability, carbon and energy, and how these apply to your role and the wider sector.

You'll leave with the knowledge and confidence to turn learning into action, whether that's making better-informed decisions in your own role, contributing to your organisation's carbon reduction efforts, or communicating progress to clients and partners.

Course Contents

Module 1: Understanding sustainability, carbon and energy
Build a solid grounding in sustainability, carbon and energy, with a focus on how these apply in construction.

Module 2: Climate action and UK regulation
Understand why climate action matters for the sector and get up to speed with the UK regulations shaping it.

Module 3: Measuring carbon emissions
Learn how carbon footprints are measured and where emission hotspots typically sit in construction.

Module 4: Climate justice and taking action
Explore climate justice and what meaningful action can look like in your own role and across your business.

Module 5: Carbon reduction, action planning and communication
Develop practical approaches to reducing carbon, building effective action plans, and communicating progress with confidence, both internally and externally.
