Wernick Events Supply Seats for Presidents Q&A
posted: 17th Jun 2016
April 2016 saw Barack Obama make his final visit to the UK as the President of the United States. He played golf with the Prime Minister, had dinner with the Queen, and found the time to address the UK’s future leaders with a “Town Hall” style address in Lindley Hall.
The event featured the President answering questions from an assembly of over 500 UK young leaders, members of parliament and assorted UK celebrities including Annie Lennox and Benedict Cumberbatch. The president delivered a speech to the collected audience, urging them to “reject pessimism, cynicism and know that progress is possible” and took questions on subjects from transgender rights to his position on the EU.
Wernick Events were honoured to be part of this special occasion by providing a black 220 seat Alto Grandstand to help create a stylish auditorium in Lindley Hall.
Site Manager Paul Moreton told us that the Events Team were thrilled to be involved; “We all pulled together to make it happen, and I’m really proud of the quality we delivered. It was an honour for us to be providing seating to such a prestigious event and for such an esteemed client.”
