Aston completed her course, Level 2 NVQ in Site Joinery and Carpentry, four months ahead of schedule and is in the process of finishing her Diploma, which runs alongside the NVQ, in the next few weeks. Aston is looking forward to starting her Level 3 NVQ later this year with the same determination and enthusiasm that has been recognised this year.  To mark the achievement, Aston received a plaque and gift voucher.

Alan Cawthorne, Production Manager at Portakabin Refurbished in Brandesburton commented, “This was a well-deserved award and all the team here are very proud of what Aston has achieved so far.”

Aston added: “It’s great to be recognised, both at College and at work. Everyone has been brilliant since day one. I really love joinery and seeing projects through from the start to the end and although it’s not a traditional role for a young woman, it’s great to be supported and encouraged to develop like I have been at Portakabin.”

Aston works for Portakabin Refurbished which constructs buildings from recycled second-hand Portakabin modules, enabling a building to be completed up to 70% faster. This means minimal disruption to a site and a faster return on investment.
