Portable Offices

Businesswoman – Lesley Dawson, owner and director of Childrens Corner Childcare, Leeds – has recently relaunched their Valley View site, into a purpose-built modular building within the school grounds.

For the last seven years the nursery had operated from two classrooms within the school building, but when the school expanded this space was required for additional pupil spaces. 

At this point, the nursery had two options: either to provide its own building or to lose 18 staff and close down the nursery.  Children’s Corner decided to establish its own premises and opted for the flexibility of portable buildings. The new nursery building at Valley View can accommodate around 45 nursery children and 26 out-of-school children.  

Now work is complete and the incorporation of a modular building has provided a large, light, warm and airy space for young children and has secured additional space so that the nursery can help to meet the growing demand for extra spaces needed by local babies and toddlers.

Supplied and fitted by Leeds-based modular buildings provider, Portable Offices, the new state-of-the-art portable building provides bright accommodation with large windows to allow even the smallest children a view on to the safe, child-friendly outside play area.

Children's Corner Childcare in Leeds has been operating for 20 years in the Leeds area. The provider works with around 500 local families, across eight sites, providing pre-school education, with after and before school clubs and holiday clubs and full day care for their children.  

Owner and director of Children’s Corner, Lesley Dawson, said:

Lesley continued: “We have so many compliments on the building, both inside and out.  The installation went smoothly and efficiently.   Our door bell hasn't stopped ringing since we reopened this term.  We had hoped for new customers but the numbers of people who have seen the building and immediately wanted to come in and see what was on offer has been overwhelming.  And every single parent who has come to look around has booked a place for their child.”
