MPBA golf day

posted: 11th Jul 2013

MPBA - Modular & Portable Building Association

On a fine sunny day the revival of the Annual MPBA Golf Day started with 40 members and guest teeing off on at Ullesthorpe Golf Course with great enthusiasm. It was so good to members having a good chat and relaxing in such super surroundings. Our last Golf Day took place in 2007 and it was a great pleasure to see so many put time aside from their normal routine spending time relaxing (for some) and networking with each other.

As players came in it was interesting to see how keen everyone was to see what their results were and the buzz that was in the Club House-slight distraction by the cricket on the television.

A non-golfer myself it was difficult for me to understand some of the 'golf talk' but smiled sweetly and hoped that I got away with the lack of knowledge.

Most players came in with a smile on their faces - some with a little sun tan (no hats how silly is that), ready for a long cool drink.

Dinner that night took place with lots of banter across the tables sharing their putts and drives, all a bit double dutch to a non-player. The hotel provided us with an excellent facility and everyone went away with a smile on their faces again.

MPBA Chairman Mike Hunt was delight to see that the day was a great success – when reintroducing this Social Event in the current climate we were unsure as to the outcome.

Prizes and trophies were presented with a suitable collection of raffle prizes being won.
